Ok, So! Here we go..... About time too

I'll pop an update about the spine at the foot of this update, I'm bored of it so am moving on to the whole point of this blog!

Today's pretty exciting when you look at the route on a map. We have headed south, leaving the dregs of the North Atlantic behind and have headed into the Caribbean sea. The swing in temperature is really something! Brooklyn was hovering around -2, three days later and we're into the mid twenties.

We navigated between Cuba to our starboard side and Haiti on the portside as we continue heading south towards Panama. It's a good and proper southerly course.

Walking out on open deck soon revealed that shorts are order of the day, three days ago my Bury St Edmunds rugby club bobble hat was on tour in NYC.

Another giveaway that we're in the Caribbean Sea is the flying fish. I remember seeing them for the first time on my previous ship MV Azura when she used to sail the Caribbean during the winter season. Those fish still fascinate. Sliver arrows skimming the waves before disappearing below the surface.

So, we carry on our journey south where we get to Colombia for a technical stop tomorrow, more to follow on that once we've been and gone. In the meantime, the weather is lovely and the sailing is smooth!!

In the event that anyone is actually reading this blog, it's going to be an interesting few days ahead as we enter the locks that take us through the Panama Canal. I have a draft schedule so will be up and about to experience that! I recommend having a read of that if you can.

Uploading photos seems to be a bit of an issue on the ships WiFi so I'm hoping to have better success once I get onto a decent 5G service. Elons Starlink is good but not quite doing the do at the moment!

The back continues to give me grief and some pain but I hope I may have turned a corner. Still on the meds but the spasms and cramps are less. I'd call it progress. I'm saying 4/10 on the man pain scale.
